Tovey is a second year college student at Northern Michigan University, studying exercise science and taking entrepreneurship courses, and often finds his spark within those courses. Tovey is from a small town in Illinois, and being in Marquette, engulfed in the U.P’s beauty, has inspired him to take action in sustaining it with co-founding SproutBox. He’s kind of a health nut, so greens to eat occasionally right at his disposal sounded great! To Tovey, its a step in the right direction, no matter the size. He’s always had the occasional plant sit on his windowsill, maybe an orchid, maybe some plant he had no idea how to pronounce, and they’d all wilt, which was in part due to Tovey not really giving it the right care, but also not having a great access point to give it the care the plant needed, which is exactly what SproutBox aims to do.

Apart from his own business ventures, Tovey is involved with Partridge Creek Compost, assisting them with internal business operations and various projects. Tovey loves to be active— whether that’s rock climbing, weight lifting, running, or anything else in that realm. He’s got a knack for it. It provides the clarity necessary to propel SproutBox and others around him.
